There are 3 levels of listening.
Level 1: Empathetic listening
When you listen from heart, keep an open mind and put yourself into the talker's position. No judging. Being empathetic to speaker's feelings and thoughts. OK-OK attitude.
Level 2: Hearing words but not really listening
People stay at the surface of communication and do not understand the deeper meanings of what is being said. Level 2 listeners listen logically.being concerned about content more than feeling,and remain emotionally detached. Lead to dangerous misunderstanding.
Level 3: Listening in spurts
Tuning in and out. Level 3 listening is quiet,passive listening without responding.Faking attention.More interested in talking than listening.
hahahahaha. Just to revise, this is my exam subject: Effective Listening. LOL
and next semester I have another subject 'Family Issue'. Good luck with that. duh...
